When the long January nights stretch on and much of London feels grey, Canary Wharf Winter Lights swoops in to brighten up the season with colour, creativity and playful light art. Now in its 10th year, this free outdoor art festival transforms the Canary Wharf estate into a glowing trail of installations by acclaimed light artists from around the world.
Canary Wharf is famous as London’s skyscraper-lined financial hub, but for these winter nights it becomes one of the capital’s most engaging art experiences:
Immersive light installations—colourful, dazzling and often interactive artworks that light up plazas, walkways and waterside façades.
Dreamscape theme for 2026—with surreal, ethereal pieces designed to spark wonder, escape the winter gloom and make for great photos.
Family-friendly and free—great for couples, families, photographers or anyone looking for a cosy outdoor evening stroll.
Food & drink options—Canary Wharf’s cafés, bars and restaurants (and pop-up Winter Lights Bites stalls) are perfect for warming up or grabbing dinner before or after your walk.
Location:
Throughout Canary Wharf, take Elizabeth Line, Jubilee Line, or DLR to Canary Wharf station
When:
Dates: Tuesday 20 January – Saturday 31 January 2026
Times: 5:00 pm–10:00pm daily
